Drill and tap for a 10-32 screw, use button heads and use 8-32 screws backed up with square nuts for the trigger guard.

Personally rivets are easier with the addition of a few tools.... So if you're mechanically challenged a screw build might not be much easier.

I typed up these instuctions years ago. At the time I was screwing mine together, the only rivet tool being used was a 20 ton press, so for me it was a justifiable way to build. Now that I have a small A frame press and modified bolt cutters, all my screw builds are slowly being riveted. I have no doubt on a screw builds strength, they just don't look right. For what it's worth, I didn't find screw building to be any easier than rivets. You'll be a lot happier in the long run if you stick with the rivets.
