I have a project in mind that requires destroying a receiver and barrel. I hate to do this even to a $49.95 1943 Izhevsk. I thought maybe someone in the area might have an old M91/30 barreled action they'd donate or I could buy cheap. Ideally you'd be coming to the big show on the south side of Atlanta next weekend and could bring it then to avoid the hassles and expense of shipping (not to mention the transfer through my 01FFL). Any year M91/30 would be great, but I could work with a carbine also. Send me an e-mail or PM through the boards if you can help out. TIA.

Since the project will destroy the receiver, maybe the person could destroy it for you before sending it, obviously at that point it is no longer a firearm.

Where can I find the $49.95 '43 Izhevsk? I could use another one! (or two or three etc..) ;)

I'll look around, but the best candidate for what you are talking about is at a local shop and he wants $80 for it. That's the cheapest thing I have found around here in months.

Great idea! I have a project in mind that requires a nice M28-30 upgraded from an M28, and a VKT M27. Both need to be complete and in great shape as the project is very long term, decades, I'm hoping. I'd really like someone to donate either or both of these rifles, but I'm willing to pay a small amount for them.:D

YT--if you recall that M91 with the internally threaded barrel that Guitarzan pointed out to me (and Levi had told me about as well), since it is priced at the value of the stock, might make sense to use the barreled action from that rifle, would it not?

PS: email for donation address on M28/30 and M27! ;)

Unlike others and their projects (you know who you are), when I undertake a project it's generally to the benefit of any Mosin collector that cares to take a look at my site. That's all I have to say about it until it's complete.

Thanks for the suggestion of Mark Kubes, but I can't drive to Tampa as cheap as I can buy a complete rifle locally (or just sacrifice one I already have).

Don't know about y'all but I'm really curious as to what Ted would have in mind, that is so important, to destroy a barrel and receiver of a Mosin. that ultimately will benefit us all. :D

Please note my "project" doesn't involve destroying anything! No Mosin-Nagants will be harmed during the long-term course of my project. :D
