Overall in very good shape. The safety does not work...no surprise there. In the original caliber. I don't need another Tok, but it might be great trade fodder.

If I were to keep it, I think I'd remove the safety and evidence of it and polish the sides of the slide to do away with the commercial markings. Thus it would be a sterile Chinese Tok.

What are your thoughts?

I am not sure it is worth getting. Being a TU-90, I do not expect it to go up in value and for the same money you can get a nice mosin that actually will go up in value, for example, I just saw M91/30 that was made in 1939 at Izhevsk for 99 dollars in local Gander Mountain.

ij,

You've been around long enough that I respect your opinion. I'll probably pass unless.....I get stupid or something.

I bought a TU-90, TOKEGYPT clone when they first came on the market, back in the 93 or 94, still have it. Surprizingly it's a accurate pistol, and it being in x25 is a plus. For 99 bucks I would get it, where else are you gonna find a x25 pistol for that little money?

$99! Get it! How can you go wrong? If nothing else it would at least be a great gun to keep in your car trunk and if you lose it you won't be too upset.

I don't get this. Its a tokarev, one of the finest handguns ever made IMO, for about half what its worth, and you hesitate? Is it the complete set? Seriously, how about shooting me a pm with the info for it? I will take that useless crap......

Damn man, show me a tokarev for 100 bucks today. You won't. So pick it up and resell it.

Tokarev is a good pistol, good design. However, I am pretty sure Mark already has handguns for shooting so he does NOT NEED another shooter handgun. And TU-90 is not collectible enough to spend money on in hope that you can trade for something interesting later.

I mostly agree with ij70 in that the TU90 is not so much of a collector gun as a shooter/carry/throw away gun. They are by comparison to the Pols and Roms not very pretty. Fit and finnish is a long way short, but they shoot good and are as durable as you could expect. But they are the low end tok and would be way way down the list of ones I'd want for collecting or investment. Having said that, I have one and it is the only tok I have and I plan it to be a part time carry gun/ shoot it till it melts gun.

Funny thread.

If the gun shoots and it is "not worth $99", just how much IS it worth?

$89? $69? $49?

Anything that goes bang every time you break the trigger is worth 99 bucks! :)
