Nambu Mfg. Type 38 Trainer?

This trainer, is unlike any I've ever seen. Other than it's similaries to the Nambu 7/8th size Child Trainer. No serial numbers, or other markings. Just what you see. Chip, whatizzit?

It's called an "Izawa Type No. 1 Gun." The kanji on the barrel step translates "Izawa Type." Here's a period Izawa advertisement showing one of these for sale. Yours is in super condition.
