A proud day for the "old man"! My boy's first rifle. He's 6, almost 7, and here he is with his new "Chipmunk" .22 rifle.
I hope he will alway's remember this day....I will. (get your finger off that trigger boy!)

Fine looking boy and nice rifle, too! I am very much looking forward to teaching my daughter to shoot. She's not yet two, so I've got a while to wait though.

Nice looking young man with a cool first gun. I'll never forget my first gun (still have it) a stevens 16GA single shot. I was eight years old. I will also never forget what my father told me when he gave it to me. Son always treat it like its loaded, even if you just unloaded it. That was 43 years ago. Dad has been gone several years now, but the memories live on.

Looks like he's gonna be a switch hitter. First picture right handed and second picture left handed...

Enjoy these years. My oldest boy got his first rifle 18 years ago!!!

Nice gift. The one that keeps on giving too. My 9 year old nephew is getting a .22 this year. So my sister says.

And do I see a real guitar in the background? Good gift also. Much better than the Guitar Hero parents out there, in my opinion.

Cheers

I had a 10/22 and a Mossberg 42MB already, so he first learned on those.

Your boy is gonna love that rifle, and your gonna love the time spent with him. Nothing like having a shooting buddy :)

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Thanks gents, it was a great day! Yep, he will learn responsible gun handling and the proper respect for fireams.
My little "shootin" buddy, a proud moment.
"Switch hitter?" HEY! Hehehe....yes, he throws lefty, but bats "righty".
I think he's still deciding. He did shoulder the rifle both left and right, so i guess i'll just have to wait and see which side wins out.
The guitar is actually for his 13 YO sister, she play's piano and is teaching herself guitar now.
I have great kids, a good woman, and i still have a good job...I have alot to be thankful for this Christmas.

I'm glad to see members of the next generation being brought up with a working understanding of firearms! But ... no eye protection? :(

Just out of curiosity, why is the cleaning rod on that AK sticking out front?
He has eye protection. But not in those pics. I have six pair of safety glasses in my truck, along with 6 pair of muffs, and a few hundred plugs. I use these pics on his buddies. "Tell me what's wrong with these pictures?" All comment on the rod. "Nope!" My son doesn't "forget" anymore.

This is an SAR2 in 5.45x39. A very common problem with these. The rod is about 1/4" to long, so, as you shoot, it slides out. I usually take it out while shooting.

The time goes by quickly my friend...My little girl is 15 now. seems like last week she was 2!

My 15 YO daughter likes to shoot, she's alway's asking to go to the range. We shoot those "powder free" Aguila rounds in the backyard fairly often, i imagine that's where the boy will get his first "shots" with the chipmunk.
Just got home from my GF's mom's house, a long day, but a good one!
The little guy is fast asleep now, i hope he's dreaming about his first rifle and a great Christmas memory.
