I just thought I'd share my two RC K98s - the top one is an S/147 1937 barreled receiver and the bottom is a 42 1939 barreled receiver. Both have perfect bores and the usual mix of parts. I am a college student who cruffles in his free time but rest assured that once I upgrade from the Ramen Noodle budget, I will add some more respectable stuff to my K98 collection.

Attached to this post is the S/147 barreled receiver rifle.

Nice k98's! How do they shoot?

My first milsurp was a 1938 S/147 RC sporting the old and 'new' eagles. Still want to add an all matching to the collection, too.

Thanks! Actually, I have not had a chance to shoot them yet. I have, however shot my Yugo K98 which is a blast!

For the hell of it, I have attached pictures of my Yugo K98 as well.

Very nice! I have several that I love to shoot. I have a byf 41 with a mint bore and shoot nice groups with cast lead bullets. Good shooting!

Real nice Tiger strips and patina on the Yugo wood. Don't refinish that puppy.

Mine to, except it was 1937 and it had a nice luftwaffe proof stock(all matching that it was mated to). You from SA? Live not to far from there.

You have a good eye for mausers...and even on as you say a "Ramen Noodle Budget" you have already acquired some respectable stuff! Nothing wrong with those! Thanks for sharing the mauser porn!

Your 42 code 1939 was one of the early 655 marked rifles. Laws book lists it for 1940. Thats an interesting piece you have there. Regards. Sunfish

Sorry T, I live about 150 west of SA. Use to go over there alot, but dont get too much a chance nowadays. Wish we could shoot sometime. I got a byf that I posted some targets of on here. It shoots really good. I will drop you a PM later. Take care, and go spurs go...

SA

I head down to SA alot, I have lots of family down there. I hunt a little south of there. Don't know if or who is organizing shoots around there but it's not too far out of my way.
