This is my first, and so far only M-1 Garand - I picked it up about five years ago from the CMP because I wanted a rifle like the one my father carried during World War II. At the time CMP had a special going - the normal price was $500 for an M-1, but for a World War II veteran, it was discounted to $300. I had my father purchase the rifle for me, and I was very pleased with the one they sent me. It has a barrel dated June 1944, and the stock and bore are in very good condition.
