Got her for $89 from Big 5. Guy behind the counter they had several blondes in the last batch and asked him to hold the next blonde he comes across for me.

Back to my 1935. Sadly she's a mix/match assortment of parts. Receiver is a Tula and the rest Izhevsk. Kind of a disappointment but what ya expect from Big 5?

Whats the difference in the triggers?

Good thing is tho both bores on my rifles are in great condition and should be fun at the lease!

Nice looking rifle. I have a 1935 Tula too. Just like yours its a mix of parts from Tula and Izhevsk, typical refurb. As far as the trigger, I'm not sure. Never paid to much attention to triggers. I'm sure someone here will know more about it.

It's not Big5's fault that you have a mixmaster Mosin...that happened in Europe during the refurb. process...NOT during it's stay at Big5...

Welcome to the boards, btw!!...(and, incidentally, it's your barrel shank that is marked Tula, not your receiver...the receiver is the hex part ;))

Take it apart and see what it says on the underneath the tang on the receiver and take pics please...it might prove to be VERY interesting and important info for certain boardmembers!!...

The trigger on your 1944 is typical of what I have seen on wartime rifles. Think about it, which is quicker to make? The fine lined trigger with all its machining, or a chunky part you can thump out of the machine and throw on the rifle, pronto.
