MP40 receiver sections

mad -------- That is sure too bad the center of the receiver tube is missing. It appears like nearly everything else is there so why not have a short section of rolled sheet metal made up of the right length and weld the two pieces pictured together. I'm sure someone who works in sheet metal could easily fabricate the missing piece.

Ya, unfortunately they took off the back side that goes into the lower too :/

I was going to put a tube in the receiver to make it look like its together and display it but it looks dumb with the missing pieces.

Stupid as it sounds Howie is right on. To top that off , simply putting a tube inside doesn't make it less likely to be deemed illegal. Possibly putting a well fitted solid bar through the whole tube with all the joints solidly welded might cut it but even then it may not. The risk isn't worth the gain in my opinion....make up a new dummy receiver from solid aluminum. They used to be available from IMA but I don't think they are offered anymore.
