Does look like correct scabbard but normally a Chat bayo has a 90 degree socket ???, can you show Chat markings on Bayo ???, Thanks

I think the very first ones were made with a straight slot? I'll have to look.

The very early Chatelleraults were 90 degrees. There were only 100 or 200 scabbards made at Chatellerault and the only one I know of is the one KH has shown. Later Chatelleraults are 30 degrees like later Russian bayonets. The common characteristic of Chatellerault bayonets is the taper at the rear of the shank. The bayonet shown above doesn't have it. Probably a Tula.

Looks like a German WW1 scabbard to me.

I have TWO Chat. steel tube scabbards, maruts pic of scabbard IS a Chat., German scabs are much bigger in diameter and have a round frog stud. Any one else have a Chat scab. ??, post pics ???, I will put up pics of mine soon.
