Hey ya'll I bought a mosin nagant 91/30 a few months back put about a 100 or so rounds through it, now when I load it with all five rounds either by hand or with a stripper clip, the bolt wont close, keeps pushing the top bullet nose down  any idea what might be causing this? worn out leaf spring?
Any help is appriciated, I love this ol' gal and I want her to function, can't take 'er out shootin' if she ain't workin':(

sounds like the rim on the topmost cartridge is hanging on the one underneath. they say the interrupter "should" prevent this issue, but it happens on all 3 of my finn mosins.

try loading the rounds one at a time, rim in front of rim.

Could be a weak follower spring. Or the tip of the spring may have broken off? Do you have any other Mosin mag spring/latch assemblies that you could try in the existing magazine to see if the problem persists?

nope, no spare parts, but chazz's idea rim over rim seemed to work, guess i was just loading it wrong?

I did notice though that the mag design is rather simple, and the follower seems a bit weak on the front, due to only one leaf spring?? seems that its bound to happen with a loose tolerance gun meant to outlive the conscript using it for over a few hundred years ;)
good gun, just need to find some local ammo again so i can shoot deer.

Finding soft point ammo for it should be no problem...Wolf markets a pretty decent commercial round for the MN and there is always Winchester too...
