How common is a Mosin with a deep blued finish? This one pictured has a finish most modern firearms would be hard pressed to match. Even had a guy at the range say I had it reblued, which I have not!

I bought it at Dunhams and its by far the best looking and nicest shooting Mosin I have.

The deep blue finish is common on the rebuilt and not reissued guns coming in. What is not uncommon about your gun is that it appears to have East German mark over the Izhevsk triangle. That is a good one.

Thanks for the reply. Just noticed the pictured stamping while looking through a magnifying glass, appears to be a cross on a pedestal with a bulls horn underneath. I tried about 20 times to get a clear photo but this is the best I could do.

Looks a lot like a double stamp of the Izhevsk arrow in triangle to me.

Nice looking mosin. I haven't seen one with such a nice blue to it before.

I have a couple 91-30's that have original bluing left under the handguard - It is a nice deep bluing that is quite striking - although where the rifles were exposed to air, not much bluing is left =+(

Pahtu.
