I pulled the rifle out of the stock today, and removed the buttplate. The wood is very dark where it's been in contact with the metal, probably from the heavy coat of grease on everything below the wood. It doesn't look like it's been out of the stock since it was stored, tape on the butt is 73. The handguard turns out not to be matching, ser. # is 356011
Is there a link on the web for the USDA to have the sample checked out?

Thank you! I think I'll get a plug cutter and send them a sample.
Does anyone have any opinions based on the new pictures? TIA.........
