I may have posted this about 5 years ago but it popped up again. Belongs to a friend who may be looking to pass it on. I know little to no value but I find the markings on the wood to be fascinating. They look like Boy Scout codes from the 1930s.

Stock looks to be from another model.

Not to worry! You're probably OK. There others out there too, whom enjoy graffiti! Of course, they're most often termed "Offender". Far as your Bud 'not offing it in five years', might want to delete that before reposting in the WTS Forum where it belongs!
Just a thought. :)

Nifty. It is a trapper, looks like a 14 or 15" barrel, pretty rare. The buttstock is of another model of Winchester as the bottom tang inlet is way long. I suspect the buttstock has been on there a long time as the wear on the fore stock and buttstock is pretty much the same.
