Perhaps a sniper rifle without a scope is little more than a rifle. But I had a question I thought I'd ask here since there are so many PSL experts here.

I picked up a PSL about a week ago from Aim. Nice gun, but the scope sucks. It's in really bad shape. No biggie though, I thought about putting something more powerful on it anyhow.

So heres the deal, anyone shoot a PSL throught the iron sights? I've seen those peep sights designed for AKs, ya think they would fit on a PSL? Just curious, I am interested in seeing how this thing shoots through iron sights first before I invest in a better scope. Some aftermarket peep sights might be a cheap way of really making this thing a nice shooter without the big money of a nice scope. And besides that, those peep sights will fot on my WASR once I am finished with them on my PSL. But anyhow, I'm curious what kind of results I can get without a scope first before I move on.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would think after looking at an AK and a PSL they are interchangeable. I shoot almost as good with irons or scope out to 200 and practice as such. My PSL is accurate that way too. Try it and see. Works for me!

As a former open sight shooter (now slowly going blury eyed) my PSL is one of the very few rifles I can still shoot fairly well with open sights.
Try it, you may be surprised at how well it works..

I also own a PSL and occasional shoot it with the "irons". I find that the stock design provides an excellent cheek weld with the irons. And don't forget to use a little sight black on the sights - every little trick helps...

Kind of what I was thinking, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone had tried it first. Either way, if I don't like them I can sell them or if they don't fit I could put them on my AK.

When I first got my PSL, I was shooting better groups with iron sights than the scope - that is until I figured out there was some play between the scope rail and receiver...

And use the 4 power PSL scope for your other AKs ;)
