A friend recently acquired this military percussion pistol. There are no obvious markings that would serve to ID its nationality. The lock is stamped with block letters GH . The barrel flat left side with the number 101. There's also a unit mark on the tang. Can anyone ID this piece? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a cavalry pistol-carbine from pre-unification Prussia, I forget which state, perhaps Hannover. A stock can be clipped into the fitting on the wrist to make it into a carbine.

It is a Model 1851 Kolbenpistole from Baden. Caliber is 13.9mm. The detachable shoulder stock has a bar at the base for a pair of sling rings. Hope this helps.
