Perhaps someone in the area can shed some light on a good place to shoot a high powered rifle without driving 50 miles from north Metro Nashville. I've even thought about leasing some property. I've also tried to join gallatin gun club to no avail but it's been a while. Things are slow at work and I've got some rifles I need to work with and any help is appreciated. Have you been to the TWRA range on Hobson Pike just south of Percy Priest Lake? Here's a link. It's only open on weekends, but it's cheap and from my experience they don't really bother with the time limits unless they're crowded and the hunters are waiting impatiently to sight in their hunting rifles.

Gallatin Gun Club is not taking new members and Owl Hollow outside of Frankin may be a longer drive than you want. The TWRA Range on Hobson may be your best bet. I have never shot there as I just go to Gallatin. Years ago I was a member at Owl Hollow. Nice range but only out to 100 yards.
