Can any of you fine people tell me when Mauser C96 "Broomhandles" were first made with detachable/removable magazines?
All the info I've been able to find only references such magazines on the M712, but does not give a date for the C96.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm guessing about 1930 with a 10 or 20 round staggered row mag. I've also read it was in 1932. Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks for the info, chud. That's pretty much the earliest I've heard too, though I DID hear that the Astra copies were made with detachable mags in the '20s
