Martini Henry type action?

I believe what you have is a schuetzen rifle. Keep in mind that the action was popular in Europe for target shooting and made in several countries. Could be German, Swiss, Belgian,etc. I really doubt it was ever made in the U.K.
At a guess it might be chambered for 8.15 x 46R which was a popular round for the purpose

John,thanks for the reply.You are right, found the maker is Swiss.Bubba tookl it apart and lost some of the parts. Bore looks to be about .22,shame for something with this amount of work work to end up a wall hanger.Thanks for the reply.

Definitely a Martini, definitely Swiss (St. Gall is in Switzerland, mainly famous for the monastery there, look up "The Plan of St. Gall"), and definitely a Schuetzen-style. Very small bore for a Scheutzen. Looks a very high quality arm, be worth finding somebody who could figure out what parts are gone and find or make new ones.
