Good example of a WWI French issued Ruby type pistol, but the holster is a later varient - appears to be a WWII style holster.

Pull back slide and lock in place with safety lever. Grasp end of barrel, rotate a quarter turn, and start wiggling forward; it will go forward a short distance, then you have to turn it back down a quarter turn, pull it on forward out of slide. Then, holding hand over end of slide, release safety and let the slide come forward under the spring tension - don't be holding on to the slide, just let it slam forward under it's own impetus - it needs to travel fast to clear the frame. Remember when reassembling to put the recoil spring and guide back in the correct way.
