M95 carbine confusion

Any information is appreciated to understand the history of a M95 carbine (from Ethiopia) with no receiver markings or crests or dates OTHER THAN an “L” on barrel .
Characteristics are: short/carbine rear sight; not sure of caliber but sold as 8x50R; 5” between barrel bands; solid/fixed loop on side of rear band; sling swivel on left of wrist; plugged where under stock swivel would be; serial # on right side of stock (no letter suffix), same number on receiver; same number WITH a letter suffix on barrel; last 2 numbers of serial # are on front barrel band; circle “E” on barrel; K on many parts but R on trigger parts; 2 numbers on hand guard do NOT match the last 2 numbers of serial number; no number on bolt; VERY worn markings on receiver or barrel- many eagles; no markings on buttplate; possible worn trench art engraving on stock (eagle?) but sanded, and NO AOI markings.
My thoughts were: made in Steyr, sent to Bulgaria where modified, refurbished barrel in Hungary but no caliber mod, and somehow sold/given to Ethiopia in the 30’s.
ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS?

Bulgaria did send M.95 to Africa, but not to Ethiopia and not in the 30s. The most logical source for these guns is Italy.

Mostly it could be hungarian item, E in circle was used there, same as under it is hungarian proof, so the arm is from Budapest mostly, R inspector stamp correspond, the L on reciever could be remains of H for point projectile.so possible 8x56R, is possible it was saled to Africa from Hungary or later outsaled to market, Etiopia normally in 30ies has already Mausers, when there something in that directions, so it could be like Nick mentioned from Italy, anyway only in 8x50R.
