I picked up a M45 sling for my M94 restoration as I understand these can be trimmed to fit the carbine. Looks like they need to be trimmed to around 49" including the buckle? I see a lot of photos of carbines but few with the sling attached.

I had 7 or 8 M94 slings at one time and the length varied on each one from 48" to 52" . Each had 25 holes plus one at the end for the stock buckle . The M45 sling is closer to 65" with 50 holes and can be trimmed to use on your carbine , no problem . M94 slings are seldom seen & sell in the $100+ range if & when you can find one .

Thanks, Swede. I'm home with an ill child today so I have time to tinker. I just trimmed the sling to 51" since I figured it's easier to remove material than put it back on. I haven't figured out exactly which way the buckle is supposed to be situated on the stock but I'll get it. Has a nice, classy look on the carbine. FWIW, the resto job isn't finished yet since I'll still applying a new coat of finish daily but this gives me an idea of the the look once completed.

M96 slings are about 48" long and will have two large holes & two slots in them at the end . Would be to short if the two holes & slots were cut off . Could be used otherwise ?
