How common are M44 carbines with 1943 dates?

Only 50,000 were made that year for testing. However when I go cherry picking I find many of them and I would not consider the rare but slightly uncommon.

+1 this. Aimsurplus had them that were handpicked out of the masses, if they can do that they are not rare but as reptile says slightly uncommon.
A long shot but if anyone has a lead on a nice 1943 M44 and would be willing to share it, please let me know. My local shows never have them (only refurb 91/30's) and I've been looking for one to finally complete my M44 collection.
