I have two Swedes. One is an original non-import German made Obendorf 1900 with original sling and stock all matched etc.
The second is a prized M41B I got form Century or Sarco in 1998.
The first one they sent me was junkie looking and did not fit its stock. and the scope and mount did not match the gun serials. SO I called them and told them I was working at the pentagon and who I was etc and that I wanted the boss to fix this situation - I was a n old customer etc.. He said send it back and he would ensure that I get a gun with perfect wood , bore, leather eye caps (original).
I got a dent free early walnut with nice striping, scope and mount matched to receiver and bolt number...and scope can matched to all. But the floor plate, but plate and bolt safety were from another gun. Question, I have heard that the snipers seldom were all matching numbers....What to expect about valuation? Is it normal to find the scope and mount matching to reciever and bolt? And is it normal for 41Bs to have odd mismatched small parts during the refurb procedure in 1955?
I can place three holes in one at 100 meters with good realoads....I have never seen a military rifle do that. And I am a Colonel with 24 years in the infantry.
The disk shows #1 on bore condition and 6.51...are these marks good or bad?
I am sure there is a string on this ...so please be patient in answering a typical question. Thanks so much
