I have two Swedes. One is an original non-import German made Obendorf 1900 with original sling and stock all matched etc.
The second is a prized M41B I got form Century or Sarco in 1998.

The first one they sent me was junkie looking and did not fit its stock. and the scope and mount did not match the gun serials. SO I called them and told them I was working at the pentagon and who I was etc and that I wanted the boss to fix this situation - I was a n old customer etc.. He said send it back and he would ensure that I get a gun with perfect wood , bore, leather eye caps (original).

I got a dent free early walnut with nice striping, scope and mount matched to receiver and bolt number...and scope can matched to all. But the floor plate, but plate and bolt safety were from another gun. Question, I have heard that the snipers seldom were all matching numbers....What to expect about valuation? Is it normal to find the scope and mount matching to reciever and bolt? And is it normal for 41Bs to have odd mismatched small parts during the refurb procedure in 1955?

I can place three holes in one at 100 meters with good realoads....I have never seen a military rifle do that. And I am a Colonel with 24 years in the infantry.

The disk shows #1 on bore condition and 6.51...are these marks good or bad?

I am sure there is a string on this ...so please be patient in answering a typical question. Thanks so much

It seems most snipers were originally built at Stockholm and all matching . During subsequent rebuilds , especially late into their use after parts production ceased , small parts were not kept with their matching rifles . Robbing parts from other rifles for stocks & needed pieces was common . Once these snipers were spread out over Sweden , we see other arsenals repair & rebuild them . Your bore disc means the condition was graded #1 with a 6.51m/m bore at the time of last inspection . It may or may not apply to it's current condition . No way of knowing how many rounds were fired through it since inspected .

SAMCO Global brought in the largest number of M41b snipers in 1996 . Number imported is unknown . They are still selling them , but really from the bottom of the barrel . Some complaints about them putting them together from spare parts . Swapping around parts & wood just to make a complete sniper . The best condition M41b's that I have seen were late rebuilds with mismatched small parts . The few all matching M41b's I have seen were worn & needed rebuilding . I sure have not seen them all , so my point view is from a small number of M41b's .

You can use the " search feature " on this forum & find a lot of info on the M41b snipers .

Sir
Thank you for your kind remarks...I guess then I have a good one with gun scope and mounts matched except for a few small parts....seems also to be original blue...Will post photos later:)

It there anything distinctive about 41B stocks.. except the cut out? THis stock is crisp and has few dings....did I just get lucky or did my threats to the boss make his blood run cold?:)

I think you got lucky ! The M41b is just a M96 ( hand picked for accuracy ) with the scope set up added to it . The stock is just a M96 with the relief cut for the sniper base . If it matches your rifle serial number , that is even better .

So it is totally correct to have all main components matched (including scope, bolt, reciever, mount and scope case)...but some small parts from another gun? Thats the premioum configuration for the 41B.???

Also where are the numbers on the stock...inside...and I cant get the hand guard off sue to sights blocking the cutout!
