I picked this up over the weekend. It's in very nice shape with a really nice barrel that is counterbored. The bolt is matching to the barrel shank CG number. There are 2 CG district markings, the one on the receiver S86463 for Kainuu is canceled and the other on the barrel shank is S7212 for Raasepori. It isn't SA marked but has a triangle with a line at the bottom resembling a tree below the CG mark but no serial number. There's a small round cartouche on the butt with SYT inside but it's kind of hard to read? It has a 1906 date Tula receiver.

Nice rifle!
Christmastree stamp and non shortened barrel from the rear end, nice feature :))

Have you tried it already on the range?

Thanks for the comments guys. I was a bit confused as according to Vic's M24 article the "Christmas Tree" mark indicated the barrel was shortened and the chamber was reworked. This one doesn't appear to be so I'm wondering why it's got the mark? I'm looking forward to getting it out to the range soon. It was a nice way to celebrate Finnish Independence Day.

There are guns with shortened barrel and wihtout shortened barrel with that mark.
The meaning is not known anymore, but I think it is save to say, that there was some kind of chamber work done, be a shortenuing a too long chamber by setting the barrel back or enlarging a too small/short chamber by reaming.

Anyone got a shortened m/24 without the stamp?????

Chris
