Greetings,

Were the M24/47s restamped from M24s?
On mine the stamp appears the same - not as if the "47" was added later.
This makes me wonder if there were converted M24s as well as rifles manufactured new as M24/47s.

Any comments?

All 24/47s are refurbed model 1924s.

For one thing, the Yugos didn't have their arms making capability rebuilt then. That's why the extensive refurb program.

Consider too, the original "MOHEN1924" was stamped on top of the receiver under the crest. So the new 24/47 stamp on the side was a whole new marking as was the Commie crest.

The all was reblued.

Mine doesn't have a stamp on top of the receiver, only on the side.
It was pretty obvious the stamp on the side was matching, and not done at two different times. No wonder I was confused.
