Hello , I just bought a repro scope M84 , mount and barrel base/pad for a Garand to made a repro M1D , I machined the barrel and soft soldering the barrel block , there is a strong fitting and no movement , but when I install the scope even with a good torque on the big nut , the scope ended as a bit springing , not a rock solid , you can move , I hope it return to zero , I'll test on the shooting range on next week end , but I'm worried about fitting ... this is the way you feel the scope ???

Thank you for any help on this matter

Repro mounts and barrelblocks have a bad rep for poor fit and the threads stripping out completely in short order.

There is a gentlemen in Arkansas named Frank Beaver who can fix it for you by replacing the threads with a stainless insert. You can find him in the GCA journal. Or, call Tim Shuff for his contact info.

My repro M1D set up is tight with no movement. The scope has a bad site pic. Mine is as far back as it can go and still needs to come back 1-2 inches farther to get a complete site pic. My mount and base came from Numrich and the scope from AIM.
