1905 Reproductions
I bought one of the 1905 reproductions ( I have a well weathered original that was given to me ) and it is a pretty sad copy. The grips are very bad fitting, improperly ribbed, the locking mechanism is poorly fitted, the blade has an uneven grind that is quite noticeable, the ricasso stampings are not even close, The scabbard is poorly made and the metal belt loop and swivel are not made of spring steel and do not work properly. I suppose it is OK for kicking around in re-enacting but I don't think it is worth the money. I have seen beautiful reproductions of swords and bayonets but this isn't one of them. Just my opinion but it seems I am not alone in this. Best regards, Joe
