M1 carbine Potbelly stock questions.

When did the Potbelly style stock for the M1 Carbine appear?
Who made them?

My potbelly has the cut-out for the M2 selector switch.
Were all Potbellies made for the M2, or were some made only for the M1.

Feb/March of 1945 were the first early revisions of the M2 including stock changes to the standared M1 stock of which there were 2 variations with the potbelly being the second.

The changes were made to provide necessary clearences For the M2 design.
