I lucked out when The 91/30's first started comming in-My dealer odered 5 and I picked out this one.It has the roughest finger grooves, and a late war stock with plain rear slot and the piece of tin in the front one.It came with the add on recoil bolt.Has the large century billboard stamp.I took it out of the stock and there are no extra holes drilled in the receiver. It is the only 44 dated 91/30 I have.I never saw that many at shows.I have a SVT-38 that has a similar recoil bolt added at the wrist of the stock

Marcus, thanks for the info-it has the traces of an Izhevsk type cartouche in the side of the stock. It would have been too good to have the Tula star.I didnt really notice the CH proof near the end of barrel shank until you mentioned it.Yes there are no holes visiable on the left side of rail.I have M-44 Tula and I will post pictures of that sometime.

As others have mentioned it a very interesting Tula ex-sniper. The extra cross bolt it kind of an added oddity bonus. All the 1940's produced Tula rifles are interesting to me. Congrats on a really nice find.

I would say that probably the stock was changed with an Izvhesk one during refurb process.

As Marcus stated, it could be one of the " accuracy rifles", or just a rebarreled rifle, like the Izvhesk standard 91/30 with sniper barrel we saw some days ago here.

Anyway a nice rifle.
