All greased and oiled prior to crating. One HVA from each year of production (1941-1944) and a CG 1914 with Vasteras sight. I like the variations in the beech stocks. The 1944 unfortunately has an arsenal repaired split in the butt, but they are hard to come by so I'm hanging on to it until the "perfect" one comes along. :)

Wow that is a nice m/38 collection. I agree that the beech stocks have major variations from one rifle to another. I really like the middle stock. Is it a 1943? I have a HVA m/96 from 1943 with the samy type of beech wood.

Thanks Bernard! That's a 1942 in the middle. Show us some pics of yours.

Sure! Here is a picture of the 1943 HVA m/96 with a HVA 1943 m/38. The picture isn't very clear and we can't really see the m/96 stock. I will try to post more pics of the rifles within the next few days if I can get good lighting conditions.

The finish on both rifles is very different even if they were both made by Husqvarna in 1943.

We see many rifles that were stained with a dark finish in the later years , both M38 & M96 rifles . That is not an original finish .

Yes the m38 is a lot darker and a bit reddish. So I guess it has been stained. Do you think it may have been done after rebuilding/refinising in a work station? There is a Crown over what seems to be an O on the wrist of the stock (A4 Tygstation, Östersund in Crow Jewel).

Yes , it may have been done after the last trip to the arsenal . We also see M96 & M38 rifles that have the dark stain , but no rebuild cartouche . I suspect they were only updating a tech order for a dark stain on unissued rifles . I have a 1920 & 1921 dated M96 with a dark stain brushed on while still together with the action ( no rebuild cartouche ) . I can see some runs of dark stain on parts of the metal . I think this is common on the beech stocks .

Here are some pictures of the 1943 HVA. I tried to take different pictures from different angles to show the stock but in the end I think that I really need a better camera! The rifle has been in FSR hand as showed on the brass disk.
I also added a picture of the HVA 1943 m38 along with the m96 to show the huge difference between the stocks. Last picture is the arsenal cartouche on the m38.
