I'm going to be checking one out here in the next few days, (legally registered of course).

I am familiar with the M-1 carbine as a whole, but was wondering if there is anything in particular I should look for when viewing this gun. My understanding is that it is an M-1 receiver that was registered as an MG, not a trigger pack gun.

Aside from the slide notch in the receiver, is there anything else on these that takes a lot of abuse or wear? Whenever I see an M-2, I am somewhat amused that the army decided to make a conversion kit, given that its such a small gun with such a high rate of fire.
