I recently bought a small lot of guns. Both the Tokarevs are missing the safetys. They just have holes where the safetys go. As I plan on reselling these, I would like to have them complete. any Ideas?
1+ the aftermarket safeties on many have proven to be unsafe and a liability.Whoever you sell em' to, are gonna take the safeties off anyway. Just put a plastic snap plug in and go.
Yup half cock is safer than releasing the aftermarket safety and having an AD.The trigger ass'ys on the Tokarevs swap out easily. It seems unlikely, but people do strange things... be sure that your Toks have a half-cock position.
Stupid-'technical' question, which assumes that the original trigger assembly has not been modified: When the after-market safety is disengaged, with the trigger untouched, can the hammer fall through the half-cock position to the firing pin?1+ on above. Those who function test one know immediately when hammer falls as safety is disengaged or slide is released and there is no decocker. Maybe many have occurred without injury ( and firer was scared stoopid) and/or safeties have been removed after reading posts like this. Several seen with metal shavings still in lock mechanism and/or floppy safeties. Seeing problems with many modern repops like SAAs or Sharps rifles due to safety requirement. Last Pietta SAA .22 seen was an accident just waiting to happen. If i had a shop i would not sell such items and think insurance companies may be making the decision for many.
