Anyway I bought this pistol around 1999. Shoots great, haven't shot alot but no problems. The only thing is I've been looking for a long time to try to find out more about it with no luck so I'm hoping someone here may know more about it. It is a LLAMA MAX-XX 45C/F. According to SN (07-04-19xxx-96) it was made is 1996. It has a black matte finish. Magazine is a double stack (I thinks that's what it's called). I bought it with the original llama mag and it also came with a high cap mag too. Some of the stuff seems to conterdict itself though. It's stamped with RSA from Ocean NJ but also has GABILONDO Y CIA VITORIA (espana). Anyone have a similar pistol like this?

Glad you like your Llama. I have several though none just like yours. The RSA is the importer, there were several over the years, Gabilondo Y Cia is the manufacturer located in Vitoria Spain. The model names Llama used can be very confusing, but occasionally advertising/ manuals for sale on ebay that display all the models of a given year.

The pistol you have used to be called the Llama IX-D. The IX-C was the full length and the IX-D is the commander size. You may find more using those names. The C/F stands for compact frame.

It is very similar to the Para Ordinance double stack. I've heard that Para copied their design from the Llama pistols. Of course, it may be cow bunga as well.

Many people use Para magazines with success in the Llama if you want cheap magazines. Like most full size Llamas, many parts interchange with the 1911 and many do not. If you like hi-cap .45s then you should enjoy this model.

Thanks Los Adaes, MonteLongo and Larryh1108 for the help and link. Gun does have a good feel even with the double stack and it and shoots great to. I also have a Star Firestar I bought new I think in the 80's in 40cal that I love. It's a little heavy for a smaller gun but it shoots great too. Anyway thanks for the info and help guys.
