I havent had this one for long. The shop had it marked as a regular chinese sks. Good thing for me they didnt know the difference

Nice rifle. Saw three Soviet SKS's at the Des Moines show over the weekend. Priced at $325 each, which is not bad for the current times, but nothing like paying $125 for them 10yrs ago. My how the times have changed.

A classic like that needs an early Chinese sling!

You have a good shop hound nose! It's nice when these are just in the racks, all lonely and in need of a good home.

If you can find a regular Chinese leather tab strap that shows some similar age and wear as your gun, it would just look more correct for the rifle than a new one.

Also, some of the "jungle" straps were found on Vietnam bring-backs. They are the ones with the metal coils in place of the leather tabs. Again, looking for one with a little wear to match.

I'd say a like new rifle deserves a like new sling

I actually do have quite a few chinese sks slings but i dont put slings on my rifles because they take up extra room in my safe

I think a tan / brown colored Chinese sling would look best on this rifle than the lush green ones you usually see, the brownish ones look lke the earlier color that goes better with an early sks
