Just curious, i read a post the other day, where someone bought a nib chinese
mak-90 and he was suprised the his owners manual listed the life of the barrel at 5.000 rounds!
This brought back a lot of memories, where i remember reading back in the late 90s, the the avg. life of a chinese ak was 5.000-6.000 round as to where the avg. of non-chin. was 20.000-30.000!
I do have a few chin. and they are my fav.ones, but i did in 98 buy a nib chin.
Tok. pistol and it listed the service life of the gun at only 2.000 rounds in the owners manual!
So what is the reason for the listing of such low barrel life? I also do remember reading in the 90s, to mainly stay away from chin. guns due to this,
however it seems the chin. are the most desired ones!
Thank You!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! 5000 rounds!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I'm well over 10G's and it's still like new. I know a Class II guy who has well over 50,000 through his Norinco and it's still good. Don't worry obout it.....you will NEVER wear it out.

All of us will be dead and buried long before our Norincos even come close to wearing out. My SKS is the absolute best rifle I own. I will never sell it for anything less than $800, because I honestly don't want it to sell lol. I never expect it to fire a single bad shot because the quality level is beyond anything I've ever experienced, besides my dad's M1911 Gold Cup, which is neither a rifle, nor Chinese, and is therefore irrelevant.

You wont wear out a semi auto ak clone . I have seen Ak's with shot out barrels ,and I dont mean from lack of cleaning care either, actualy worn out .So it is possible to wear them out ,but a semi version ,I wouldnt think so . Some yugo's ,PLO kits have been shot out .And of course RPK's Yugo, romanian ,russian and bulgarian .But these saw alot more action than yours ever will.
