I was gifted this several years ago and was going thru logging for insurance. I noticed these letters on the inside of handguard. it was supposed to be a bring back from North Africa. Thanks!!

While I’m unsure how it might have ended up in North Africa, this PP was issued to and used by uniformed customs officers. Plain clothes customs officers mostly used the PPK. R.F.V stands for "Reichsfinanzverwaltung".

This board is a trove of information!!! With that info is there a site I can go to and see who it was issued to? It was my wife's Uncle that brought it back. He served in North Africa and Italy as a tank retrieve/repair mechanic. He told us that he took if off a deceased German comms officer.
