Hey Guys,

Would anyone be so kind as to post a few pictures of the butt stock and fore stock of the 1886/93 Lebel, if possible with dimentions, (the tubular magazine is not that important as it will never fire, its just for outward appearence)

I have a ww1 battlefield found ground relic. I am thinking of restoring to a former glory (re-stocking), I read a while back on the old forum that itwould be quite expensive; if they ever came for sale that is. I am thinking of making my own stock but the net is not showing me much.

can anyone help?

Thanks

thanks Kelt for the link,

Here the rifle I am thinking of restoring, it had a round lodged in the area where the magazine was attached, i managed to remove it. It was headstamped

I know, Its pretty much a barreled action, once the rust is stabalised and treated its just cosmetic outward appearence then.

The Relic SMLE I restored was in a similar shape.
(didnt come with the butt was just the barreled action)
and it ended up like this

The only problem with the Lebel is parts are hard to find.
