Last year's Montana hunt

You did NOT shoot that thing from 50 miles away!! ;)

When I and my family took a trip through the West, we went out the northern gate of Yellowstone into Montana. The town there had a couple of diners specializing in buffalo meat, and it was some of the best I've ever had! It's hard to go back to beef after eating that...

While we were in Yellowstone, we were doing some driving along the Yellowstone River. A herd was crossing the road ahead of us and several other cars, and naturally there was a Park Ranger there to keep the city-folk from approaching the big critters. However, as we sat there (about 20 minutes, no complaints!:D), one came up the shoulder of the road right alongside us, not even 3 feet from the passenger side. I could have reached out the window and touched him, had I wanted to. He was gored, though. Had about a half-inch hole in his rib cage that was bleeding a little bit. HUGE bull, too!
