Hi All,

Am looking for a bit of advice on my weapon? I am sure it is an original 1952 type II AK, all the parts on it are original and are stamped the same serial number. I am by no means an expert on this weapon but i do know that it is very collectable and could be worth a decent price to a collector? But doing some research i can see that it is near impossible to sell it to anyone as it is a fully automatic weapon and the world has turned its back on such a fine thing!!!

So here comes the hard part i am currently working in Afghan and have been searching for a rare AK and eventually i came across this, not knowing that it would be so difficult to shift on to another country or into someones private collection?

Any help and advice with this would be gratefully appreciated

I have made a youtube video of the weapon, stripping it down to show all original parts.

Picture Below as well.

Thanks

If you are US citizen, forget about it.

If you want something nice, collectible and legally safe, get a few Persian rugs.

I think they allow "display guns".

The whole thing is painful for people who are passionate about it (like us here), but walking away and forgetting about it is probably the best you can do.
Think i will walk away only after i have tried every avenue known to man to get this riffle out this country, if i cant then i will sure hide this weapon away for the years to come hoping some day the laws will change! if it is not in my lifetime then i will ensure that my son has a nice wee treasure hunt when he gets older, LOL

When Scotland leaves the UK, are you guys going to allow yourselves to own more working firearms?

FREE SCOTLAND!!!

And when you do that, will you please get the land of my fathers, Wales, to go independent, too.

In my 4.5 years in Afghanistan, I came across a lot of them, and in cosmolene. That and other weapons
forbidden to bring out under any rationale.

My advice: Just bring 10 fingers and 10 toes home and turn the page. No use getting worked up over metal that
is a ticket to jail .

a permanent expat in Afghanistan. ?

Jezzzzzzzzzz, I wouldn't wish that even on the North Vietnamese

The only AK that I brought back was a war rug with a huge AK 47 woven on it. Looks great in front of my gun safe.

Sadly, Russian origin AKS are on the "do not import list" for the US along with SVT-40s.
I don't know whether any parts can be brought in, but certainly not a classic full-auto Soviet AK .
Sure wish it was allowed -I'd be first on the list, as it is a treasure!
