Friend examined a near mint T-2 that lacked an inspectior's stamp on the bottom of the butt. The stock appeared to be original. Comments?

Some of the later "Na" stamps are kinda light & may be mistaken for a ding. The "ri" mark is usually pretty pronounced on all Nagoyas. If neither of these are present I'd put on my 'doubting Thomas' cap.

Hello :
God and my hair dresser know for sure. So you were in AZ, the show isn't till first weekend in Dec., trying to get a head start ?.
Guess Tulsa is on this weekend, talked to the shochu man, didn't find much, left early, that ole boy is sure racking up the frequent flier miles, wish it was me. Still no resolution on my car woes. Hang loose.

Viewed photos of the rifle this AM, stock is a reddish color with a rough finish. Roughness reminds you of either a late 20th or 30th series rifle, I disremember which arsenal used that finish. The stock has several notaceable dings. Rifle has a mum and is compltely matching, however blue on barrel ahead of the front sight worn to the bare metal from b'net ring. Rifle was sold as unissued. Owner, who is unaware of this Board, lives in NY and since Garfield's also in damnyankeeland by I suggested the owner email photos to Garfield to post.l

Is that the inspection mark area of the stock in that one photo? How does the groove behind the lower swivel look. What I can see looks legit, but the color is different than most seen.

Mine is number 13917 has a very pronounced inspection stamp in the usual place. It's a near mint rifle; all matching to include the dust cover, has an untouched mum and staked screws. The stock shows shaping marks as though it was hand carved.

Even though it is redder than normal, the finish looks legit to me.

They must have received a shipment of red shade urushi that week.

I discussed this with Garfield, (have to learn the lad something,) and I wondered if it could be that the stock was "finished" when the stain was close to the end of however stain was stored, it had thickened and the color particles had settled/intensified? But, what do I know about things like this.

Sounds like as good a theory as any; and quite possibly true.

Are the drugs you use expensive?
