Came across a handful of Japanese steel & brass strippers. I was very surprised to find "Kynoch" stamped on the back of one. Did the British sell ammo to Japan before the war??

CW posted some great photos a while back of British sailors practicing with Arisakas. Perhaps the stripper you have was produced for use with the British Navy.

Kynoch T38 Ammo

Kynoch made huge quantites of T30 (RN) and T38( Spirepoint) ammo for the Brits and the Russians between 1916 and 1918.
The Rifles originally sent to france in 1915, and passed over to Britain, were eventually sent to the Russians in 1916-17, and Kynoch was a major ammo supplier.
