I recently was able to locate a very reasonably priced Kynoch Chassepot conversion. Part of the reason it was affordable, it was missing the bolt retaining screw. I checked, the screw from my 1866-74 threads in perfectly, and I have someone who can copy the threads and make me a repro screw. The head of the Kynoch screw is completely different though, and he needs a few close up pictures, and/or measurements to get it right. The best I have been able to find so far is from a long closed auction.

Thanks!

Being a French Ordnance Screw, it is French Metric Thread.
