Hey guys,
I picked this up Thursday at the SOS. Unfortunately I had to leave and didn't get to see the whole show, but at least I found this treasure!
It is a Japanese ammo (?) crate with several items that were shipped home by a sergeant in the 859th Aviation Engineer Battalion off of Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
The items which include a T89 knee mortar round, 20mm round, rice bowls, chop sticks, a scarf, a damaged piece of anti aircraft light, pieces to a dc motor, coral from the reef and sea shells are all listed on a 1944 dated wartime capture paper.
There are also a lot of maps and blueprints on different airbases in which this gentleman helped build.
Any idea what the box says? Also, what do the two tags say? Sorry for the blurry pics of the paperwork. I put them in a binder yesterday and there was a glare from the cover when I took the pictures.
Enjoy!
