Very hard to tell but can anyone tell if it is a H or M? There are no markings on the take down discs.

That looks like a "M" which is the stamp for the navy as you know. So far I have read that these have shown up on "ar" 1941 and S/42 1936 k98s. I'm sure there may be more but that's all I know so far. Hope this helps.

Solman it shoots okay, haven't had it out if years, there is a little pitting in the barrel.

If you bump up the contrast on the photo it looks like an M to me. Are there fleet markings on the take down isc?

No markings on the disc. Looking at pics of the "M" in BBOTW the middle portion of the m comes to the bottom not like in this "M" where it stops short of the bottom. I notice then looking at the pic what appears to be an M that has its center stopping short of the bottom. Does this make sense to anyone? So where there other styles of M's that were used?
