Just for informational purposes. If someone wanted to put together a look alike war era K98 from scratch with the parts below mismatched for strictly a shooter what would you guys guess to be a ballpark figure to build it?If some of the parts weren't marked that would be OK.Only barrel/reciever wartime marks would need to be stamped.

barrel/reciever with bolt
trigger housing
stock
cleaning rod
bands
sling

With apologies to the purists here.:sorry:

Between $400.00-450.00. Its like re-storing a vintage vehicle. For the most part your not going to realize a profit on your investment.

That was the point of my post.I wouldn't do it to sell no less make a profit.Your pretty much saying it would be the same cost as an RC. And thanks for not accusing me of being a Bubba.

I doubt you could do it for 450 unless you used really bad condition parts. Buy an RC, you can pick them up at gun shows for 300-400 or less sometimes. The total cost of parts always exceeds the cost of the complete item. Lucky to find a stock for less then a hundred and it will be a RC takeoff.

Rebuilding guns is an interesting hobby, but not a profitable one. I bought a $25 GEW88 from OWS, restored it with $150 in parts and ended up with a $125 gun. I'd look around for a barrel, receiver and stock on the serious cheap, then pay full price for the rest.
