Right now I have too big of a scope on it (6.5-20x50mm Simmons Whitetail Classic) with Warne 7.3 extra high rings. I have a set of medium, high, and extra high, but with a 40mm scope (without Adjustable Objective) I could probably get away with medium, which is much better for a proper cheek weld. I'll eventually talk myself into at least a Leupold VXII 3-9x40 scope and change over to the Medium height rings. . . some day. The Front objective is the only thing that gets close on my scope (it rubs wood with high rings) so I had to get the extra high. I don't know much about the scout mount that was mentioned above, other than requiring a long eye relief scope (fewer to choose from than standard rifle scopes). Also you are forced to remove the rear sight, so you lose the abilty to co-witness your iron sights with your scope. My Swiss Products mount allows me to see thru Irons and scope, great for close encounters at short range. If it shows up at a distance, I'm covered there too.
Best of luck,
Steve
