Yup, Swiss Products Clamp-on scope mount. It is very durable, available at Brownells and Graf&Sons, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. You will have to get used to a right offset scope and you'll want to buy very durable (reputable) tip off rings. (3/8" dovetail) I recommend Warne 7.3 rings, but there are alot of good strong ones.

Good luck and happy shooting,
Steve

hey guys, i picked up a couple of K31s back when they hit big, i'd like to put a scope on one but i dont wanna deface them. anybody know of a non tap scope mount that are worth the money?

S+K scout mount rigs are very hard to beat.
They are made in the USA, made of hard steel and are warrantied to hold zero.
Retail with shipping is under $100.00, S+K single post turret mount style rings included.
I use (and sell) them, and so far everybody that's bought one has thanked me after they get it mounted.

Right now I have too big of a scope on it (6.5-20x50mm Simmons Whitetail Classic) with Warne 7.3 extra high rings. I have a set of medium, high, and extra high, but with a 40mm scope (without Adjustable Objective) I could probably get away with medium, which is much better for a proper cheek weld. I'll eventually talk myself into at least a Leupold VXII 3-9x40 scope and change over to the Medium height rings. . . some day. The Front objective is the only thing that gets close on my scope (it rubs wood with high rings) so I had to get the extra high. I don't know much about the scout mount that was mentioned above, other than requiring a long eye relief scope (fewer to choose from than standard rifle scopes). Also you are forced to remove the rear sight, so you lose the abilty to co-witness your iron sights with your scope. My Swiss Products mount allows me to see thru Irons and scope, great for close encounters at short range. If it shows up at a distance, I'm covered there too.

Best of luck,

Steve

Thanks Steve. Since I won't go any larger than 40mm the medium rings should work for me. I have got other gun projects in the pipeline right now but scoping my K31 should happen in the next 3 months or so. I have two of them. The other K31 already has Diopter peeps on it and that was more expensive that this will be.

I've been using the clamp on mount with a 3-9x40 scope and it's just the thing. I used to have a scout scope set up, and that was nice too... but I had a few white-tail deer run past me at near point blank range... even with the low power, it was impossible to find them in the scope that close and moving that fast. The clamp on lets me utilize the irons... best of all worlds.
