The Bomb Plot against Hitler. Interesting to speculate what might have happened had the briefing took place in the bunker and not the Lagerbaracke, or Colonel Brandt had not kicked Stauffenberg's briefcase and moved it to the other side of the table support.

One thing that has impressed me in my readings about the German Resistance is that there were no leaks or betrayals. At the same time it illustrates the Elder Von Moltke's observation that "No plan survives contact with the enemy." If General Fellgiebel had shut down communications at Rastenburg despite seeing that Hitler had survived it might have given the plotters the extra time need to carry it out. Eisenhower said "Plans are nothing, planning is everything!" You need a Plan, an Alternate Plan, a Backup Plan, a Contigency Plan, an Emergency Plan-and you still need to think on your feet.
