A very merry Juhannus to all you Gunboarders!

Tonight all us Finns are celebrating midsummer solstice according to our ancient traditions. We'll eat, drink, drink, dance around bonfires and drink.

For those of you who are not familiar with our midsummer tradition I'll (again) quote a British author that lived to tell:
"During Midsummer solstice the Finns celebrate the Circle of Life; on midsummers night hundreds of Finnish men will drown with their zippers open and next morning hundreds of Finnish women will wake up without a clear recollection of who the father to be is..."

(Note: sadly the drowning part is true. Peeing standing up in a rowing boat is both common and sometimes fatal. Not to think of what these dimwits drown in...)

Hey Bokmal,

Now I know what to call Friday nights out in the Peaceshack. Daughter visited Stonehenge just a coupla' weeks ago. Said that it was ok. Think that she would have a different opinion if she were there for the Solstice. Have a happy Juhannus and don't try to pee out of a small rowboat. Where is the best place to celebrate? Your backyard maybe? The celebration sounds like a blast, if I live long enough, it would be a great trip to go over for the experience.
