yep, thats correct, to a type 94 mortar. Did you bid on that? I'm second to the last bidder. For a long time there was only one bid on that and I thought nobody is interested in that. I put a $355.00 bid and figured I would get that....I was wrong!

I did not bid on it but I have the same sight and was not sure what it was for. The markings are unlike any of the markings on my other Japanese optics. Is this scope shown in any book that is available? Thanks Bob

Mine has two extra viles that went into the little storage compartments inside..it is for a chinese type 31 60mm mortar..i beleive i still have it if anybody is still interested?

Heck, I always thought a 'mortar sight' was a guy with a radio and binoculars on a hill a hundred yards (+/-) ahead of the mortar.

What kind of 'sight' can really be all that effective for an indirect fire weapon?

I never was big into artillery, but this question really does have me stumped.

man am I lucky, and i was bummed out that I lost that. I think your right its probably chinese. I reexamined some photo of the sight and its close but not exactly the same as the japanese one. I knew where a type 81 mortar was for sale without the sight, thats why I wanted it.
